NEED TO KNOW? I have a 4year old computer, COMPAQ Pres, running xp up to date service packs & drivers! Problem>loads slow, >screen flashes only on start & shutdown,>Tried to up date IE8 started up date & comp shut down before finishing than auto restart no bluesceen ? It has registry issues How to fix? Oh ya personal pictures got on music side of WMP? Last but not the end Boot path that windows say is no good( leads nowhere )/( I know Leave it alone it works ) = cant, need to fix!!!!2 people need an answerI do too

Did you make the mistake of upgrading drivers via MSUpdate as apposed to from Compaq web site?Boot Path? do you mean on bootup you get the option to choose two differnt win installations? If so have you previously tried a repair or new installation of win?Is the PC virus and malaware free?

Well<> on the Compaq update for the Drivers they said there were no updates ! So yes all driver updates came from MSupdates " Compaq has not been helpful at all "On Boot path in the start up controls it shows two B,Paths and windows is saying one B,path is invalid ?and yes it pauses on start up 05sec for me to pick a start up installation > than load's windows XPI have loaded Blue Regestry cleaner dont realy trust them Cleaner came back with over 750 dead paths, or dead ends ? In the regestry? MS live one care didnt find regestry problems! But it also missed the invalid boot path that I Know is still there ! So who do I beleave ? YES it would be nice if the P,C, makers suported there PC after three years .Yes the security is free from MS Security Essentials .
